Cannes: Upcoming films Rude Buay…the Unstoppable and Who Shot the Sheriff? are expected to sparkle after creating a huge buzz at Filmart in Hong Kong.
Rude Buay … the Unstoppable and Who Shot the Sheriff? two upcoming films from ALI Pictures, and recently inked for International distribution by the Hollywood based California Pictures, buzzed extensively while presented at the Hong Kong 2016 Filmart.
Rude Buay … the Unstoppable (epitome of a Black James Bond) is an accelerated suspense thriller set in Jamaica, Miami and Colombia with very high stakes and eclectic gadgetry. This secret agent pic is a blend of a Black James Bond meets Traffic, Jason Bourne and Charlie’s Angels – gone bad.
Sautéed in martial arts: Producer and author John A. Andrews who just returned from Filmart, sees this concept a perfect fit for the ever growing Asian Pacific region. With China now owning over 28,000 screens and adding another 8 -10 screens daily. “the possibilities could be endless,” He says.
Rude Buay, once an extract from Jamaica and now summoned back to his homeland, is a force to be reckoned with. A character relentless in his efforts to rid his country of the viscous Dragon Drug Cartel. His street style of justice puts him to the test as he comes up against deception, deceit and inequities of all kinds.
Pronounced Rude Bwoy, this action packed thriller is part of a back to back production including Who Shot the Sheriff? set for this Fall 2016 in Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
Who Shot the Sheriff? the uncanny music driven saga already resonating internationally, is expected to share production space and schedule with Rude Buay … the Unstoppable. Peppered with twists and salted with cultural music, this new mystery can be compared to: The Harder they Come, Hustle and Flow, Verdict and the Witness. Protagonist Wesley Haynes, must succumb the tides of adversity in order to rise to the top as an international artist.
Pre-Production on both of these pics is ongoing: Steven Istock of California Pictures will co-produce with John Andrews from ALI Pictures. Istock is CEO of California Pictures and former banker for clients including MGM, and Media Services, one of the largest production and accounting and payroll companies with many of film studio, network and guild clients including the Screen Actors Guild. John A. Andrews is the prolific bestselling author of Rude Buay … the Unstoppable and Who Shot the Sheriff? Andrews also adapted both novels to screenplay. While Directors are yet to be named to helm these pics, Cannes 2016 could serve as a springboard for these two well flavored forthcoming films.
